There is something so incredibly haunting about this music. Maybe it’s the damper pedals; maybe it’s the ever so slight needle skip; maybe it’s the wistful, pensive key leads – like the last dance in the ballroom before it’s time for the lovers to pair off into the night, not knowing if they’ll see each other again. Behind LIQUID TELEVISION‘s fuzzy, magic-eye exterior is one of the most surprisingly heartstring-tugging, plaintive albums ever created, one that silently slips on by like a sailboat in the night. I only wish it were longer.
