AOTW | 12 September – 18 September: Universitat de Barcelona – Virtual Campus™
Virtual Campus™ is a relatively obscure vapornoise album released toward the end of 2013, when the many subgenres of vaporwave were pushing their evolution to the utmost max. The album is a time capsule of the fictional, titular campus of the very-real Universitat de Barcelona, whereby years of compression, archiving, and general disuse have resulted in a decayed and corrupted husk of what once was a top-of-the-line example of early technological integration. It starts out relatively melodic before descending further into noise, but without the focus on overt harshness that similar albums typically utilize.
