Evaporated Sounds releases “私の愛 / 幼年時代” by Samasukuru / 人類
Our second split album of the day is 私の愛 / 幼年時代, a work between Samasukuru and 人類 on the Canadian label Evaporated Sounds. Samasukuru’s half is future funk similar to Yung Bae and マクロスMACROSS 82-99 with its uptempo sound and utilization of occasional vocal leads and anime samples. The 人類 tracks are much more chill, evoking the modern jazz influences of Suli Hyuga but making a much heavier use of spoken-word Japanese voices juxtaposed against smooth instrumentals. ECCOJAMS screw makes an appearance on “Rewind∞”, which has in-time tempo and pitch shifts like a vinyl changing playback speed. The split is available for $1 CAD as a digital download.
