New World releases “After School; Seifuku Hop” by worldgrinder / apollo drive

The likes of artists such as Suli Hyuga have brought bop, vocal jazz, and modal jazz into the world of cyberpunk music much like Nujabes did with instrumental hip-hop. Just like Suli Hyuga, comparing the collaborative release of After School; Seifuku Hop by worldgrinder and apollo drive to the smooth, entrancing sounds of the late Japanese hip-hop artist wouldn’t be too much of a stretch. (Hey, as I’m writing this, I’m seeing that Suli Hyuga performed on this album, and one of the tracks is called “Sebajun”, which doubles as Nujabes’ real name and “Nujabes” spelled backwards.) Check it out for some downtempo hip-hop with a few vocal features to boot. It’s available for $1 USD as a digital download.
