The impossibly-pronounceable Apk ♀ ᴎᴇᴛ ☯ Ltd℻ creates noise music on the even-more-impossibly-pronounceable ༼ཧ༐࿏༽.1 This RKM Records album takes the Swamp Circle predilection for frequently challenging and occasionally punishing vaporwave-as-noise to a whole new extreme, being twenty-one minutes of sound collage with the occasional classic-style section. ༼ཧ༐࿏༽ begins with a sample of deathcore chugging before launching into a blast of noise and some ECCOJAMS. The album further explores EDM, glitch music, and harsh noise with sudden jump cuts with very little warning. There are occasional vaporgoth sections that utilize piano music.
There’s a thing as “too much” when it comes to noise and sound collage; unfortunately, ༼ཧ༐࿏༽ crosses that line. It has some interesting textures in a Merzbow sense, but the extreme disparities and lack of connection between samples ironically ends up making it just another album that sounds like all the rest in the buckets and buckets of Internet sound collage music. Apk ♀ ᴎᴇᴛ ☯ Ltd℻has quite a few albums, and there are better things to explore in their discography.
