Power Lunch releases “Death of a Culture” by Princess Commodore 64

Death of a Culture that might belie its status as dark ambient vaporwave, seeing how it’s released by an artist named Princess Commodore 64 on Power Lunch, a label with a somewhat-memetic status. Death of a Culture presents Princess Commodore 64 as an introspective project that questions what the artist has made thus far in their career as well as their thoughts on the vaporwave/dreampunk scene. The album includes an essay by the artist that explains their thoughts on the album, its provocative title, and the artist’s plans for future compositions. The music itself is a bit like Chinese Hackers in its dark ambient, with a somewhat decrepit tone that’s demonstrated by the sepia-toned album artwork. Death of a Culture is available as a pay-what-you-want digital download and for $8 USD on cassette in an edition of 16.
