Ooooo, concept album vaporwave! NYC MARATHON ’88 by WJAR10PROVIDENCE is freshly out on the Japanese label Seikomart. It’s a two-track album in forty minutes that combines various television broadcasts, promotional materials, and pop tracks to create the impression that you’re listening to an historical broadcast of the titular marathon. The tracks are mixed as if all songs are in one continuous suite, with the break between tracks due to flipping over the cassette sides. NYC MARATHON ’88 is available as a pay-what-you-want digital download.
