Neoncity Records releases “Timeless” by Desire

If you’re into future funk, then I hope to Akira that you’ve heard of Neoncity Records. It primarily focuses on French house-influenced future funk as practice by artists such as MACROSS82-99. Timeless is a new full-length by Desire that’s filled with Japanese funk samples, four-on-the-floor house beats, and dance lines. The production is a bit more hi-fi; lots of early future funk releases were so compressed to give the songs a disco/club feel that actual listens with headphones were a bit rough, but Timeless lets up on some of the sidechain for a smoother listen. Timeless is available as a pay-what-you-want digital download; the cassette editions are already sold out.
