Dream Catalogue releases “Return Of The High Intellect Nymphomaniac Anime Legend 3000” by Chesumasuta
Only a few days after killing off the Chesumasuta alias and releasing the final TKX Vault album as Martin Smith, the artist revitalizes the alias for Return Of The High Intellect Nymphomaniac Anime Legend 3000, available through Dream Catalogue. For those unaware, the Chesumasuta story-arc has involved the artist starting out in sample-heavy vaporwave and dreampunk that steadily grows to include more references to being in love with a machine before the artist broke down and admitted he was nothing more than a “loser” from midwest USA pretending he was a futuristic pop star. So take this comeback as you will. It combines a huge variety of cyberpunk music tropes, including rap vocals from the artist in a first-ever for the Chesumasuta project (although some sung lyrics were featured on 2016’s I am Chesumasuta). The album also includes broken transmission (“Teetotal & Stressed”) and hardvapour (“I’m Trapped”). Recommended for fans of trip-hop, perhaps. It’s available for £4 GBP as a digital download.
