Do I detect a Minor Threat reference? Probably not, but damn if it isn’t exciting to see anyway!
WEAK WAVES is an extended-play by §E▲ ▓F D▓G§ released in the summer of 2014, although it sounds like it came out in 2016. The artist’s utilization of harder electronic/club beats, emphasis on mid-range, and merger of extraordinarily affected samples with original music foreshadowed some of the most popular trends of the next few years. It’s a bit of “oceangrunge” sounds that haven’t been seen much in vaporwave mainstream – insofar as such a concept even exists – with an extra bit of hyped-up atmosphere for equal enjoyment to be gained from dancing or from listening with headphones.
