AOTW | 5 September – 11 September: g h o s t i n g – Telenights

The first fall album-of-the-week is bringing in the darker days with Telenights by ghosting. This album is a quintessential “broken transmission” album in its highly screwed presentation of a late night Canadian television broadcast where the programming is always announced but never seems to come on in the midst of the barrage of advertisements and public service announcements. It’s an album that’s admirable for its context but also enjoyable for its content – something that broken transmission doesn’t always successfully impart. The programs are sonically interesting, and ghosting tells a cohesive story in just nineteen minutes. Read Sunbleach‘s review here, and listen to the music below.
