Adhesive Sounds double release: 豊平区民TOYOHIRAKUMIN and hotline / ΣPSON

13 February brought two new albums into the fold of Adhesive Sounds, a label based out of Toronto, Ontario.
2013-2014 is a compilation album by 豊平区民TOYOHIRAKUMIN, a longtime producer mostly within classic-style vaporwave and a curious mix of hypnagogic drift and vaporhop music. The compilation comprises three extended-plays released in the eponymous years. It’s an excellent introduction for new fans into 豊平区民TOYOHIRAKUMIN’s discography, and the neat, complete package makes it good for collectors. It’s available as a pay-what-you-want digital download; the cassette copies are already sold out.
sunset love is a split release between hotline and ΣPSON, both of whom began making music last year. This album is purely classic-style vaporwave, taking samples directly from easy listening, adult contemporary, and R&B sources with some audible jump cuts and occasional filters. It’s available as a pay-what-you-want digital download.
