reality.wav series

The works of reality.wav consist of two albums of self-referential vaporhop music released by matdmoon through the Telepathic Data Storage umbrella before its planned deletion last fall. Both albums were released in 2015; they consist of about a half-hour of eclectic, polyrhythmic music with less overt reliance on samplism than most of the TDS releases. Consider these albums two sides of the same coin – a double EP, if you will. FillerAudioGathering features some pseudo-EBM tracks (e.g. “TheNewFormat.wav”) and is comparable to the late LifeBuilder series of TDS releases, although considerably more wacky. SpacesInBetween has a jazzier aesthetic, with longer tracks that are somewhat reminiscent of mallsoft in spacious, reverberating production (e.g. “LostCommercials.wav”) and trap music (e.g. “SpacesInBetween.wav”). Generally speaking, FillerAudioGathering is the stronger album; there, the electronic/rave influence is more finely integrated (e.g. “VirtualWhispers.wav”). Check that one out first.
