Evaporated Sounds double release: Future✖Storyline and 脳力. ΞLΞVΛTΞ
Elevated sounds recently redesigned their label page for an update, futuristic/cyberpunk bent akin to the images of the Far East utilized by HKE on HK and – of course – Blade Runner (but with less smoke). Coinciding with this update are two new albums, one by Future✖Storyline and another by long-time Evaporated Sounds contributor 脳力. ΞLΞVΛTΞ. The 脳力. ΞLΞVΛTΞ album – 合成夢 – is significantly different from the artist’s previous mallsoft/classic-style offering, instead opting for a future funk/vaporhop vibe, with a couple sounds recalling death’s dynamic shroud.wmv’s peculiar brand of dance-glitch. The Future✖Storyline album – 真夜中の散歩 『地域』 is a broken transmission release that incorporates field recordings (or the equivalent in the digital world). There is very little musicality in the normal sense here; check it out if you’re a fan of the last ULTRACOMPUTER album and are curious what it would sound like if played live outside an empty subway station. Both albums are available for $1 USD each as digital downloads.
