アロエ波 – アロエ波

The self-titled album by アロエ波1 is chiptune and classic-style vaporwave straight from STC Records, an Illinois label. This EP is four tracks in seven minutes. It utilizes a bit of glitchy, hyper-compressed percussion that gives a hint of a future funk vibe without going into the all-out danciness that future funk proscribes. The third track is the most overtly classic-style of the bunch, with a looped instrumental/muzak jam replete with that amazing Seinfeld-esque bass that was all the rage in the mid-90s.2 アロエ波 is a short but rather decent release; a similar production style would make for a pretty good full-length. Not much, but probably worth adding to a classic-style playlist. Recommended for fans of DMT Tapes FL.
