エターナル夜中幻夢 |２２８４|1 plays ambient vaporwave on 夢幻２ – 人工頭脳2, which was released by Cyber Dream Records in July 2016. This type of music belongs to the vague (as in definition and sound) style known as “slushwave”, which initially came into being when telepath tagged his early albums with the term. “Slushwave” has come to describe the surreal ambient vaporwave characterized by prominent samplism of pop media (Japanese or otherwise) that is juxtaposed with a production often described as “swirly” or “swishy” – or, of course, “slushy”. This is the artist’s first release, which was followed-up in 2017 by スーパーマリオ64.
夢幻２ – 人工頭脳 is pretty much telepath-worship, using extremely similar effects and source material. The piano melody of “完了” sounds a bit like REDEFINING THE WORKPLACE by INTERNET CLUB. This will appeal to big fans of telepath’s releases circa-2014/early 2015 or those for whom the old-school vaporwave style of Cyber Dream Records is particularly interesting. Certainly pretty, albeit derivative.
