マクロスMACROSS 82-99 self-releases “SAILORWAVE II”
The friendliest dude on Twitter (seriously) has released a follow-up to 2013’s SAILORWAVE, one of マクロスMACROSS 82-99’s most highly fan-regarded releases. SAILORWAVE II is eleven songs of future funk in a style that mixes plunderphonics samplism with uptempo house music (e.g. early Daft Punk). Samples are primarily sound effects like phones ringing (akin to The Avalanches), Japanese funk music, and jazz music. SAILORWAVE II also features some trap and hip-hop influences, as heard in the rap break on “Sakura”. There are a number of features this time, including Desired, Yung Abe, Aritus, Night Tempo, Punipunidenki, and Le Real. It’s available for $2 USD as a digital download.
