DMT Tapes FL releases “Kenopsia” by b l u e__ΔCID

According to the Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, “kenopsia” is defined as “the eerie, forlorn atmosphere of a place that’s usually bustling with people but is now abandoned and quiet—a school hallway in the evening, an unlit office on a weekend, vacant fairgrounds—an emotional afterimage that makes it seem not just empty but hyper-empty, with a total population in the negative, who are so conspicuously absent they glow like neon signs.”

You feeling okay, DMT Tapes FL? The releases from the last couple of days have got me worried about you. Kenopsia is somewhat droney samples of smooth jazz and other media that have been edited and stretched to create a melancholic dreamscape with an emotional affect best represented by the decayed pool on the album artwork. Later tracks get rather bizarre, with “Back of the _________” being filled with backmasking like a vaporgoth version to “Like Spinning Plates” by Radiohead. Kenopsia is available as a pay-what-you-want digital download.
